Trailer 2
May 2025. Longer and warmer, and much more about Jason and Lucia as a couple than as criminals.
The second trailer came out in May 2025, seventeen months after the first, and it did the one thing the first trailer had deliberately avoided. It introduced people.
From a place to a couple
Trailer 1 was a mood piece about a place. Trailer 2 is about a relationship. Jason and Lucia get proper scenes together this time, where the first trailer only intercut fragments of them, and the supporting cast arrives with them: Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest and Real Dimez.
It also opened the map up a lot, heading out of Vice City and into the wetland, the Keys and the interior.
And it picks up where the first trailer left Lucia. She's released from prison, with Jason waiting for her at the gate, so the couple's story starts with somebody coming out of a cell.
A Pointer Sisters song from 1986
The song is Hot Together by The Pointer Sisters, from 1986. The Tom Petty track was wistful. This one's warm and a bit ridiculous, and it does a lot of the work: the trailer's funnier than the first one and a good deal more affectionate about its two leads.

Into the sunset in a Declasse Tulip
It ends with the pair driving into the sunset in what's been identified as a Declasse Tulip, a 1972 Chevelle-shaped muscle car. It's Bonnie and Clyde framing, and it's played completely straight.
The signs name an airport and a governor
We read the trailer off Rockstar's 2160p master in September, and our scene count puts it at 47 shots. A few of them carry text that turned out to matter.
On a causeway into Vice City, three overhead signs read US 35 North, VCI Airport, Ambrosia, then I-97 to I-397 North, Port VC, Downtown, then Exit 3, SW 9th Ave, Southside, Peacock Bay. That's the first time the airport was named in anything official. The highway signs piece goes through them one at a time.
The prison gate has four signs on one wall, and the last one says the extra Sunday visiting hour is BY ORDER OF THE STATE GOVERNOR. So Leonida has a governor. The man walking out past that wall is wearing a Let Freedom Reign! shirt with a bald eagle on it.
The speedboat's hull reads UREPREDATO, which corrects our own earlier reading of Predator, and the outboard is a DINKA 300 V6. Everything we could and couldn't read is in our 4K text read.
Seventeen months of silence
Seventeen months between trailers, and then another fifteen before anybody saw gameplay, is an unusually long silence for a game this size. Community analysis filled almost all of it, and that's a big part of why the mapping projects and the frame-by-frame culture around this game got as serious as they did.
What isn't known
Just like with the first trailer, Rockstar hasn't published a shot list for this one. Several of the locations and vehicles in it have been identified by outlets, and the studio itself hasn't confirmed them. The signs name Southside and Peacock Bay, and nobody knows yet where either one is or what's there. We also don't know whether the prison Lucia leaves is somewhere you can go back to.
