Real Dimez

A rap duo made up of Bae-Luxe and Roxy, and the game's direct line into viral music and influencer money.

Real Dimez are Bae-Luxe and Roxy, a duo sitting where viral rap, influencer culture and the money behind both of them meet.

In a game set in modern Florida, they're how Rockstar gets at the attention economy: the streams, the sponsorships, and whoever's actually paying for the video.

Bae-Luxe and Roxy

Bae-Luxe and Roxy are the two halves of the act. Rockstar's shown them as a pair and released very little about either woman on her own, so we're covering them together here. Once there's enough on either of them for her own page, she'll get one.

What you can see is that they're shown as a working act, and they aren't just background. They've got a name, a look and a place in the story's business network, which is more than the series has usually given its in-game musicians.

Why two of them

A duo gives Rockstar something a solo artist wouldn't: a relationship inside the act that can go wrong. Music industry stories are nearly always about the split, and with two people in the act, the pressure from Dre'Quan Priest and the money behind Boobie Ike's studio has somewhere to land.

It mirrors Jason and Lucia, too. Grand Theft Auto 6 is built around two people whose relationship is a tracked system. Running a second duo alongside them, in a different business with the same basic question of whether the partnership survives the big chance, probably isn't a coincidence on Rockstar's part.

Going viral as a career

Grand Theft Auto has always gone after whatever was making people money that year. Real Dimez are this game's version of that: going viral as a career, sponsorship as income, and the gap between what an act looks like it's worth and what it actually has in the bank. That gap's usually where the crime comes in.

The game's music is out, theirs isn't

Plenty of the game's real music has been announced now. Rockstar named its first six radio stations on 8 October (our rundown), it's putting out Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album with 34 original songs on 19 November, and Justice's Original Score follows on 11 December, with the single Pusher featuring Gesaffelstein already out (the score announcement). None of those announcements mentions Real Dimez, Bae-Luxe or Roxy.

What isn't known

Nobody's confirmed how much of the game they take up, whether either of them is playable in any way, or whether Rockstar has recorded original music for the act. Rockstar hasn't released any of their songs so far, and it hasn't said whether the duo turns up anywhere on the album, the radio or the score once the game's out.
