Radio stations

Six stations are confirmed so far, Flash FM among them, with hosts including Bad Bunny, Burna Boy, Robyn and two members of Slayer. And for the first time, the radio keeps playing when you're on foot.

On 8 October Rockstar named the first six radio stations in Grand Theft Auto 6 and put a preview of each one on its music page. It also confirmed something the series has never done before: the radio doesn't stop when you get out of the car anymore.

The station names, genres and on-air names below are taken from Rockstar's own descriptions. The real people behind each microphone come from Rockstar's announcement, as the music press reported it. If you want the whole announcement, our news write-up has it.

Back Country also has a roving swamp weather reporter, Mud Dog Mike, who files his reports from an airboat. A few outlets have named the people behind MW and Delta Dawne, but they don't agree with each other. Rockstar's page only uses the on-air names, so this page does too.

The radio follows you on foot

Every Grand Theft Auto before this one tied the radio to a vehicle. In Grand Theft Auto 6, Jason and Lucia can connect headphones or earbuds to their phones and keep listening while they walk, either to the radio or to on-demand podcasts, which are new to the series too.

So it's less a new menu option and more a change to how the whole world sounds. Talk radio is where the series has always hidden its sharpest writing, and until now you only ever heard it in traffic. Rockstar hasn't named any of the podcasts yet.

Six is a first wave

Grand Theft Auto V launched with seventeen stations, fifteen of them music and two talk. Rockstar hasn't said anything to suggest the new game ships with fewer, and coverage of the announcement points to classic rock and talk radio still to come. So think of the table above as the confirmed part of a longer list.

The stations are separate from the album, too. Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is thirty-four original tracks, out on 19 November. The songs that have been confirmed so far are listed on radio and the soundtrack.

And there's a third record. On 29 October Rockstar's Newswire announced *Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score* by Justice, which is the music under the game itself, and Rockstar says it's "dynamically tuned" to the way you play. It's out on 11 December with thirty tracks. "Flower in a Hurricane", the song from the launch trailer, previewed it, and the second single, "Pusher", has Gesaffelstein on it. Our news piece on the score has the vinyl and CD details.

Flash FM, then and now

Flash FM is the one name that's coming back. It was the pop station in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002, and again in Vice City Stories in 2006. The 2002 game had nine stations for one city in one year, and you can still see the shape of that line-up in 2026.

The right-hand column is our own reading of the two line-ups. Rockstar hasn't matched them up itself. What we find interesting is how far the mix has shifted: hip hop has gone from niche to mainstream, and the Latin station plays reggaeton now instead of mambo, which is what Miami sounds like in the 2020s.

What isn't known

We don't know how many stations ship in total, who's behind Back Country, what the podcasts are, or whether there's a talk station at all. It's also not clear whether PC players can build a station out of their own music, the way Grand Theft Auto V let them. And Rockstar hasn't said whether Real Dimez, the rap act inside the story, will be heard on the in-game radio.

Now there's a Justice score as well, and Rockstar hasn't said how it and the radio share the space. If you're in a car with a station on and a chase starts, we don't know whether the score takes over, the radio keeps going, or it depends on the mission.
