Privacy Policy

This is what 6 Insider collects when you visit, why, who else touches it, and what you can do about it. We've tried to keep it short and say exactly what happens.

The data controller is RNG Media S.L., registered in Spain. Company details are on the legal page. Anything about your data goes to legal@6insider.com.

You don't need an account

You can read everything here without signing up or telling us who you are. We don't take payments and we don't ask for your name or address.

If you give us your email address

The signup form on articles and the countdown asks for an email address so we can send you one email when GTA 6 unlocks in your timezone. To time it, we also store the timezone your browser reports. That's all we use it for.

If you also tick the box for occasional updates, we record that you did, when, and the exact sentence you agreed to. Only people who ticked it ever get anything besides the launch email. Nobody gets added to that list any other way.

The legal basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works in one click. When you unsubscribe we keep your address marked as unsubscribed, which is how we make sure you aren't emailed again. If you'd rather we deleted it completely, email us and we will.

Addresses are stored in our database, hosted by Railway, and emails are sent through Resend. Neither may use your address for anything except storing it for us and delivering our emails. We never sell or share the list.

Polls and the "most read" list

When you vote in a poll, your browser gets a cookie called six_voter holding a random id, so the same browser can't vote twice. It doesn't say who you are. Article views are counted as a number per page per day, with nothing about the reader attached.

To stop spam on the signup form and polls, we briefly keep a scrambled version of your IP address (a salted hash). It can't be turned back into the address. This is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and free of abuse.

Things stored only in your browser

Checklist ticks, the "since your last visit" marker and whether you've closed the giveaway notice are saved in your own browser's storage. They never reach us, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Advertising and cookies

This site is paid for by advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other sites.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google's consent tool asks you first, before any personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change your answer later from the privacy link it adds to the page. Anywhere else, you can turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses data from sites like this one here.

Analytics

Our hosting provider, Vercel, measures traffic without cookies. It tells us which pages get read and doesn't identify you.

We also use Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to see how people find the site and whether our Instagram and Facebook promotion works. These set cookies, so in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland they stay off until you say yes in the consent tool.

Vercel also keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for a short time, to keep the site running and spot attacks.

Affiliate links

Some links to shops, mostly Amazon, are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy something after clicking one. It never changes your price. Once you're on the shop's site, its own privacy policy applies.

Who processes data for us

Vercel (hosting and traffic measurement), Railway (our database), Resend (sending email), Google (advertising and the consent tool), Meta (the pixel, only with consent) and Amazon (affiliate links). Some of them are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the EEA, it's covered by the safeguards those companies offer for it, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, move it somewhere else, or object to how we use it. Where we rely on your consent, you can take it back at any time, and that doesn't affect anything we did before. Email legal@6insider.com and we'll answer within a month. Since we hold so little, it's usually quick.

If you think we've got it wrong, you can complain to Spain's data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, or the authority where you live.

Children

GTA 6 is rated for adults, and this site isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 14, the age Spanish law sets for consenting to this on their own. If you think a child has signed up, tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If it ever changes what we do with email addresses you've already given us, we'll ask again first.
