Jack of Hearts

Boobie Ike's strip club, in pink neon. The legitimate half of a portfolio that Raymond's product supplies.

The Jack of Hearts is Boobie Ike's club, and you can read its name in pink neon across the front in the official screenshot set. Interior shots show the floor, the stage and the lighting.

Boobie Ike's portfolio

Boobie Ike is introduced as somebody who turned a street reputation into a portfolio: property, a strip club and a recording studio. The club's the visible half of that.

Rockstar's own character copy says Raymond runs drug production that supplies Boobie's club, and he's the man who opens the Extended Look. That's where the legitimate portfolio stops being legitimate, and it's why the venue matters to how the story fits together and isn't just set dressing.

A Peekhole poster on the wall

The club also turns up inside the Extended Look, in its Vice City nightlife section. In October people spotted a promotional poster on one of its walls with a QR code and the name Peekhole. PlayStation LifeStyle says scanning the code takes you to the game's official site.

Fans read it as a parody of OnlyFans, and the logo does look a lot like OnlyFans' older branding. A paid subscription app advertised in a strip club owned by a man who also runs a recording studio fits the place. Rockstar hasn't said what Peekhole is, and it could be a phone app or just one joke poster. Our news piece has where to find it.

Strip clubs in the series

Strip clubs have been in Grand Theft Auto since the 3D era, and for most of that run they were a minigame and a joke. You walked into a room, had a short interaction, and nothing you did there touched the rest of the game.

Grand Theft Auto V is where that changed. Trevor takes over the Vanilla Unicorn and it becomes his base of operations, which is a much more interesting idea than a minigame: the venue as a front, and the front as somewhere the story happens.

Grand Theft Auto Online then built the structure out properly, with a nightclub sitting on top of a warehouse and the legitimate business laundering the illegitimate one underneath it.

Built into the plot from the start

The difference here is that the whole setup arrives already assembled. This club has a named owner, a named supplier and a stated place in the story's economy before the game has even shipped.

In Grand Theft Auto Online you bought that arrangement. In Grand Theft Auto V you inherited it halfway through. Building it into the plot from the start suggests Rockstar sees the front as part of how the story's put together, more than as a property you unlock.

It also fits how the rest of the cast has been introduced. Almost everybody Rockstar has named comes attached to a business, a supply chain or somebody else's payroll, and the map of who supplies whom is turning out to be the real shape of the story.

A jack is a low card

A jack is a face card that outranks almost nothing. Whether Rockstar meant anything by that is unknowable, and reading a theme into a club name is exactly the sort of thing this site tries not to do.

What isn't known

We don't know whether you can walk in whenever you like, whether it can be owned, whether it shows up in missions, or where in the city it is. Rockstar has shown the front and the interior, named the owner and the supplier, and let a poster slip into its own footage. It hasn't said anything else about it, including what Peekhole actually is.
