GTA 6 has a video rental shop that's going bust, and it's still "now stocking DVDs"
On the strip mall Lucia robs in the Extended Look, the shop next door is Video Forever. We read every sign on it at 4K.

Everyone watching the Extended Look's robbery scene was looking at Lucia walking into a phone shop with a pistol behind her back. Fair enough. But the shop two doors down is the best bit of set dressing in the whole video, and it's a video rental place that's dying.
We went through the strip mall frame by frame on the 4K master. Here's what's on it.
Video Forever
The sign's faded so badly the red letters have gone pink. It says Video Forever, with "Rent, buy, sell, trade, video games, snacks" underneath. Up in the top corner, on a little strip, it says "Now stocking DVDs!"
That's the joke. The shop's proudly announcing a format that was new in about 1999, and it's never taken the sign down.

Then you look at the windows. A big banner says Store Closing! and the door has a sign that says Bank Owned. Taped to the blinds there's a handwritten "Closing down, everything half price", another for "Store fittings for sale", and a red poster saying "All movies, everything must go!" There's a film poster in the corner for something called Howitzer, an action movie by the look of it.
So the story the art team's telling is pretty clear. The last video shop on the block hung on long enough to start stocking DVDs, and now the bank's taken the building. Nobody wrote a line of dialogue about it. You'd only notice if you stopped and looked.
Next door: Zeke's Gadgets
The shop Lucia actually walks into is Zeke's Gadgets, with a "We Do Repairs" banner and a "Massive Reductions! On all phones!" poster in the window. The window stickers carry made-up tech brands (Genic, Thriftex, Tenshun and a Sumo logo), the way GTA always fakes its electronics.

They even did the opening times. Monday to Wednesday 9am to 6pm, Thursday late until 8pm, Friday and Saturday until 5pm, and Sunday 9am to 4pm. Somebody at Rockstar sat down and decided a Vice City phone shop does a late night on Thursdays.
On the other side there's a pawn shop and jewellers, Casa de Empeño and Joyería Empeños, with "Instant cash, gold, silver, diamonds" and "We buy cell phones" in the window. Two locals stand outside watching the red car pull up, and a third's asleep on the bench.
Why bother?
You'll probably drive past this strip mall a hundred times and never read any of it. That's sort of the point. It's the same thing we found with the Prairie Sandwich advert and the fake brands on real Miami billboards: Rockstar's filling corners nobody's meant to look at, and the jokes are better for it.
The robbery itself is part of the store robbery system. If you want to find the strip mall yourself, it's about eighteen minutes into the Extended Look. Pause when the red car pulls up and look left.
