Real GTA 6 cars are driving around Miami, led by a Vice City police Lamborghini

Six to eight cars in GTA VI liveries, with Leonida plates, crossed Miami to Key Biscayne while a blimp flew over. Rockstar hasn't said a word, and nobody's confirmed who built them.

On 15 and 16 October, people in Miami started posting videos of a convoy of cars that shouldn't exist: six to eight of them, in Grand Theft Auto VI liveries, on Leonida plates, driving through the city and out over the causeway to Key Biscayne.

Leading them was a Lamborghini Huracán dressed as a Vice City police car, with the full livery and the lights.

What was in the convoy

They're real cars, wrapped and kitted out to look like their GTA versions. Matching the in-game names to what's under the wrap is guesswork, but the line-up reported from the footage includes:

  • A Vice City police Lamborghini Huracán
  • Two Corvette-based Invetero Coquettes, one of them with an angular body kit
  • A McLaren-based hypercar dressed as the Progen Emerus
  • A classic Ferrari dressed as the Grotti Cheetah
  • Classic American coupes styled as the Albany Manana and a green Albany Buccaneer with gold wheels and a zebra-print interior

Several of those names are already in our vehicle list from the trailers and screenshots. A car in a parking lot isn't the same as a car in the game, though, so none of them changes status there.

And a blimp

At one point the convoy stopped at a petrol station, and in the video there's a GTA VI blimp overhead. Another one was reported flying down the coast. Add the Welcome to Vice City sign on the Kaseya Center, the Heat's Vice City night and the City of Miami's banners, and Rockstar's now doing in Miami roughly what its games do to Miami.

Who built them

Nobody's said. Several posts credit West Coast Customs, which built a real Bravado Banshee for Rockstar in 2013 to promote GTA V, but that's a reasonable guess and nobody's confirmed it. Rockstar hasn't posted about the convoy at all, or said who organised it.

There's also talk, from a single account on X, that the cars were being filmed for a live-action video. That's a rumour, and we're labelling it as one. Whether this is part of a filmed campaign is still anyone's guess.

Nobody knows yet whether the cars will turn up anywhere else before launch. If they do, it'll almost certainly be in Miami.
